Jeddah: The Federal Minister for Board of Investment, Mr. Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, was warmly received at a gathering hosted by leading Pakistani businessmen in Jeddah, including Chaudhry Tariq Iqbal and Mr. Ali Malik, Owner of Kababish Hotel. The event saw significant attendance from the Pakistani business community, underlining their keen interest in Pakistan’s economic and investment strategies.
According to Press Information Department, the Federal Minister expressed appreciation for the entrepreneurial success of the Pakistani diaspora in Saudi Arabia, highlighting their role as an economic bridge between the two nations. He encouraged these entrepreneurs to leverage their networks and expertise for investment opportunities in Pakistan. The Minister outlined the government’s reform agenda, which includes over 500 regulatory changes to improve business operations and reduce compliance burdens.
He emphasized the Business Facilitation Center’s role in providing streamlined services for business registrations and approvals. Investment opportunities in sectors such as agriculture, IT, mining, energy, and tourism were also highlighted, alongside the benefits offered by Special Economic Zones. The Minister stressed the Board of Investment’s commitment to facilitating investors and promoting Pakistan as an attractive investment location.
Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh invited the Pakistani business community in Saudi Arabia to engage in Pakistan’s economic development by investing and forming joint ventures, particularly in emerging sectors. The event also served as a platform for dialogue on potential cooperation avenues between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, with the Minister reaffirming the government’s dedication to fostering a conducive investment environment.
