Islamabad: Pakistan observed the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism, commemorating those who have lost their lives in terrorist attacks and expressing solidarity with survivors. The country, which has endured significant losses over two decades, continues to grapple with the effects of terrorism, particularly in regions like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, where citizens and security personnel are still making sacrifices.

According to Press Information Department, the President of Pakistan emphasized that no ideology or political objective can justify the killing of innocent people, urging for a global commitment to prevent terrorism. The President called for the international community to ensure that terrorist organizations do not receive external support, including sanctuary and weapons.

The President highlighted the importance of supporting victims through comprehensive measures beyond immediate relief, advocating for empathy, medical care, education, and legal assistance. The government aims to enhance a coordinated support system, leveraging technology to make services accessible to victims and families.

The message underscored the need for collective national efforts, involving government, civil society, and the private sector, to sustain support for victims. It also called for addressing extremism, intolerance, and discrimination to prevent radicalization.

The President reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve against terrorism, stressing the importance of creating a society where young people are shielded from radicalization and where differences do not justify violence. The message concluded with a call for national unity and peace, honoring the sacrifices made by Pakistanis across the nation.
