Pakistan Mission to UN Marks Independence Day with Flag Hoisting Ceremony


New York: The Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations and the Consulate General of Pakistan in New York held a flag hoisting ceremony at the Chancery building to commemorate Pakistan’s Independence Day. The event underscored a renewed commitment to the nation’s founding ideals with a focus on national sovereignty, peace, security, and socio-economic development.



According to Radio Pakistan, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, addressed the gathering, highlighting the resilience and achievements of the Pakistani people since gaining independence on August 14, 1947. He emphasized the need for continued dedication to national ideals and acknowledged the challenges overcome by the nation.



Ahmad also reiterated Pakistan’s support for the people in Jammu and Kashmir and expressed solidarity with Palestinians, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to their rights and aspirations.
