Islamabad: The Ministry of Energy (Power Division) has launched Pakistan’s inaugural National Power Sector Innovation Program, marking a significant stride towards developing a national framework for innovation in the power sector. The initiative, supported by the Innovation Hub digital platform, is set to connect young talent, researchers, universities, startups, and industry experts to create practical solutions to the country’s energy challenges.

According to Press Information Department, the program aims to foster and support promising ideas, transforming them into scalable solutions that enhance the power sector’s efficiency and reliability. Over the next three years, Rs. 1 billion will be allocated for mentorship, technical assistance, and the implementation of successful innovations.

Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari emphasized the need for innovative thinking in the rapidly changing world influenced by new technologies and business models. He highlighted the program as a pioneering national framework designed to nurture and transform innovative ideas into practical solutions. The program invites young Pakistanis to participate and contribute to addressing the country’s energy challenges.

The initiative provides a structured pathway for ideas to progress from concept through mentorship and technical support, ultimately reaching pilot and national-scale implementation.
