Federal Minister Reviews Technology-Driven Disaster Management at NDMA Headquarters


Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Ms. Shiza Fatima Khawaja, visited the National Emergencies Operations Centre at NDMA Headquarters in Islamabad, where she reviewed technology-driven disaster management systems. The visit included a briefing on the NEOC’s advanced disaster preparedness and response mechanisms.



According to Press Information Department, NDMA Chairman Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik and senior officials welcomed Ms. Khawaja. She was briefed on NEOC’s development of technology solutions, including AI-IoT enabled systems for real-time hazard monitoring and IP-based Disaster Early Warning systems. The Minister also toured facilities such as the Mobile NEOC and Disaster Resilient Infrastructure Model to assess their capabilities.



Ms. Khawaja expressed appreciation for NDMA’s efforts to integrate modern technology into disaster management. She emphasized the importance of collaboration between NDMA and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication to enhance disaster risk management and resilience in Pakistan.
