Pakistan Envoy Engages in Key Talks with Afghan Leadership

Kabul: Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Ambassador Mohammad Sadiq Khan, concluded a significant three-day visit to Kabul, during which he held strategic discussions with Afghan officials aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.

The visit, carried out under the directives of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, involved critical meetings with Afghanistan’s acting leadership to address shared interests.

On March 22, Ambassador Sadiq met with Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi. The discussions centered on peace, security, trade, and people-to-people contacts, with both parties expressing a commitment to ongoing dialogue. Ambassador Sadiq highlighted the importance of addressing security concerns to reinforce bilateral relations.

In a separate meeting, the ambassador engaged with Afghanistan’s Acting Commerce Minister, Nooruddin Azizi, to explore opportunities in trade, transit, and regional connectivity. Both sides agreed on the potential for expanded economic cooperation.

Upon returning to Pakistan, Ambassador Sadiq briefed the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, who expressed satisfaction with the outcomes and called for further measures to elevate engagement and trade cooperation with Afghanistan.
