Government Prioritizes Major Road Infrastructure Projects Across 300 Kilometers

Islamabad: The Senate Standing Committee on Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives was briefed on the government’s current focus on substantial road infrastructure projects, extending over 300 kilometers.

The Chairman of the National Highway Authority addressed the committee, highlighting the Sukkur-Hyderabad (M-6) contract as a top priority. According to the feasibility report from international consultants, the project has been divided into five sections.

Two sections of the M-6 project are set to commence under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The government is actively pursuing investments for the remaining three sections, which demand significant funding for their execution and completion.

The development underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing the nation’s road infrastructure, aiming to boost connectivity and economic growth.
