Pakistan Commits to Swift Implementation of CPEC Phase-II Projects

Islamabad, In a crucial meeting held in Islamabad, Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to expediting the implementation of the second phase of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.

According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the pledge was made during a discussion between Pakistan’s Caretaker Planning Minister Muhammad Sami Saeed and the Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong. The meeting underscored the importance of ongoing projects under the CPEC initiative, particularly focusing on the ML-1 railway project and the Karachi Circular Railways.

The discussions highlighted the significance of Gwadar, emphasizing strategic interventions aimed at transforming the socio-economic landscape of the city. Key projects in Gwadar include the establishment of a high-quality Vocational Training Institution, a water purification plant, and a state-of-the-art hospital. These initiatives are envisioned to bring substantial improvements in the quality of life and economic prospects of the city’s residents.

The Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong acknowledged and appreciated the efforts made by Pakistan in implementing the CPEC-related projects. The CPEC, a collection of infrastructure projects, is a cornerstone of the broader Belt and Road Initiative by China, and is instrumental in enhancing connectivity and economic ties between China and Pakistan.
