Pakistan Army Holds 82nd Formation Commanders Conference at GHQ


Rawalpindi, General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), presided over the 82nd Formation Commanders Conference at the General Headquarters (GHQ). The conference was attended by Corps Commanders, Principal Staff Officers, and all Formation Commanders of the Pakistan Army.



According to Inter Services Public Relations, the participants paid tribute to the sacrifices of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and citizens. The briefing focused on professional matters, national security challenges, and countermeasures against both traditional and non-traditional security threats. The forum emphasized the resolve to counter terrorism, affirming that all terrorists and their facilitators will be dealt with decisively.



COAS expressed satisfaction over the operational preparedness and morale of the formations. The forum also voiced support for the people of Palestine, advocating for the two-state solution with Al Quds Al Sharif as the capital. Concerns were raised about the ongoing repression in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, with a reaffirmation of support for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.



The conference highlighted support for the government’s initiatives in economic recovery and curbing illegal activities. It acknowledged the growing sense of stability in Pakistan and resolved to counter efforts towards creating despondency. The participants affirmed the Pakistan Army’s commitment to national defense and urged unity among Pakistani citizens.
