ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and seven other Islamic countries have publicly condemned Israel’s dismissal of the Gaza Comprehensive Plan and the concept of Palestinian statehood.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates issued a joint statement criticizing Israel’s stance against Palestinian statehood and its opposition to the Road Map designed to end the Gaza conflict. The ministers emphasized that Israel holds full responsibility for any outcomes resulting from its continued non-compliance, which may include the worsening situation in Gaza.
The statement highlighted Israel’s refusal to implement the Comprehensive Plan, pointing out that it jeopardizes the extensive peace efforts led by US President Donald Trump. The ministers called for sustained US involvement to ensure Israel’s adherence to the plan and to deter further impediments.
Reaffirming the necessity for the immediate execution of the Comprehensive Plan, the statement stressed the importance of addressing Gaza’s humanitarian crisis and achieving a lasting peace based on Palestinian self-determination and international law. It also rejected any unilateral actions that could undermine Palestinian statehood and regional stability.
The ministers underscored the significant role of the Board of Peace, urging all parties to support its initiatives for the Road Map’s implementation and the progression of President Trump’s peace plan. They called on the Board to take decisive actions, with US backing, to maintain the integrity of the Comprehensive Plan and prevent obstruction.
