Islamabad: Pakistan and Norway have agreed to bolster their people-to-people ties, as outlined during delegation-level talks at the foreign office in Islamabad. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar led the Pakistani delegation, while Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide represented Norway.

According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions encompassed a wide range of bilateral cooperation, touching upon trade, investment, climate change, maritime affairs, and education. Both nations expressed satisfaction with the current state of relations and committed to further enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar emphasized the value Pakistan places on its friendship with Norway and expressed a desire to strengthen the bilateral relationship. He noted that several Norwegian companies are currently operating in Pakistan, contributing to the country’s growth and development. The talks also included in-depth discussions on regional and international developments of mutual interest.

The Norwegian Foreign Minister acknowledged Pakistan’s significant role during the recent Iran-US conflict, lauding the efforts and contributions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
