Pakistan and Iran Commit to Enhancing Transport Links


Islamabad: Pakistan and Iran have reached an agreement to enhance their road and rail connections in an effort to boost trade between the two nations. The decision was made during a meeting in Islamabad between Pakistan’s Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, and Iran’s Minister for Transport, Farzaneh Sadegh. Both parties also agreed to activate a Joint Transport Committee as part of these efforts.



According to Radio Pakistan, Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized the importance of robust land connectivity in unlocking significant trade opportunities between Pakistan and Iran. He assured the Iranian delegation that any transport-related issues would be addressed with urgency.



In response, the Iranian Transport Minister expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating a peace agreement, underscoring the collaborative spirit between the two countries.
