ISLAMABAD: Following directives from Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Police deployed a modern mobile control room to monitor Muharram processions, ensuring robust security measures. The control room accompanied the 9th Muharram central procession, facilitating real-time surveillance through its integration with the Safe City Islamabad system.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the mobile unit functioned as a field command post, enhancing communication and coordination among security personnel. The system’s integrated communication setup was crucial for maintaining coordination between police, traffic authorities, specialized units, and other law enforcement agencies, enabling prompt responses to any incidents.
Senior officers utilized the mobile control room to oversee security arrangements, providing instructions and briefings directly to officers on the ground. This real-time monitoring extended to all field units, assessing their performance and the overall security environment.
The integration of the mobile control room with the Safe City Islamabad system marks a move toward modern policing. The initiative has improved security measures, ensured continuous surveillance, facilitated timely decision-making, and established a coordinated command structure during the procession.
