Germany Pledges Enhanced Cooperation with Pakistan in Education and Sustainable Development


Islamabad: Germany has pledged to strengthen its cooperation with Pakistan, focusing on education and sustainable development, as conveyed during a meeting between German Ambassador Ina Lepel and Pakistan’s Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal.



According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting underscored Pakistan’s interest in expanding ties with Germany, particularly in higher education, faculty development, research collaboration, scholarships, and academic exchange programs. This initiative aims to bolster human capital development within Pakistan. Ahsan Iqbal extended an invitation to Germany to participate in promoting sustainable and environmentally responsible tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan, recognizing German expertise in tourism planning and institutional development.



Ambassador Lepel expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s reform efforts and development priorities, reaffirming Germany’s commitment to enhancing cooperation in education, sustainable development, cultural exchanges, and economic engagement.
