Islamabad: Pakistan and Belarus have embarked on a new chapter of bilateral cooperation in agriculture, trade, and technology, following a high-level meeting between Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain and Belarusian Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Yakovchits Aleksander. The discussions in Islamabad aimed at enhancing mutual trade, investment, and technological exchange in the agricultural sector.

According to Press Information Department, the meeting resulted in agreements to increase participation in agricultural trade fairs and food exhibitions, facilitating business-to-business sessions in areas such as seafood, fruits, and dairy products. Both sides also agreed to organize reciprocal visits of trade delegations and explore initiatives in fish farming and seed trade.

Further discussions touched upon the establishment of an agricultural machinery testing facility in Pakistan with Belarusian support, and capacity-building cooperation between plant quarantine organizations to bolster phytosanitary systems. The leaders emphasized the importance of translating cooperation into tangible commercial, technological, and institutional outcomes, reaffirming their commitment to developing productive partnerships across various sectors.
