Omar Abdullah Accuses BJP of Opposing Only Those Who Stand Against It

Srinagar, National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its stance on dynastic politics, stating that the party’s real issue lies not with political families but with those who oppose its agenda.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during a conversation with journalists in Srinagar, Abdullah argued that the BJP’s criticism of ‘parivarvaad’ (dynasty politics) is selective and is aimed only at those parties and families that challenge the BJP’s policies and governance. He expressed pride in opposing the BJP and clarified his stance without hesitation.

Abdullah highlighted the BJP’s alliances and interactions with leaders from political families, questioning the consistency of the party’s criticism of dynastic politics. He referenced the BJP’s association with Chirag Paswan in Bihar and Home Minister Amit Shah’s meeting with Raj Thackeray in Maharashtra as examples that contradict the party’s stated aversion to political dynasties. Additionally, he pointed out Jyotiraditya Scindia, a prominent BJP figure from Gwalior, as another instance of the party’s selective criticism.

The remarks came in response to recent comments by top BJP leaders who accused various parties, including the Congress, National Conference, and People’s Democratic Party, of promoting family rule, igniting a debate on the role of dynastic politics in India’s democratic process.
