Jeddah: The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, has voiced his endorsement of the newly established Makkah Joint Defense Agreement, a strategic alliance forged among Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkiye. Taha emphasized the significance of this collaboration, which he views as a commitment to enhancing both regional and international cooperation.

According to Radio Pakistan, the OIC Secretary General highlighted that the agreement is a foundational element for promoting security and stability across the region and throughout the Muslim world. He noted that it represents a unified effort to address escalating security challenges and solidifies the principles of solidarity and partnership among member states. Taha expressed optimism that this agreement will facilitate peace and prosperity within the region and benefit the international community.

Additionally, Bahrain has also extended its approval of the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement. The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs lauded the agreement as a strategic partnership among equals, aimed at maintaining regional and global stability, while enhancing credible deterrence. The ministry acknowledged the substantial defense capabilities and military expertise of the three countries involved, as well as their contributions to regional security.
