Peshawar, The North West School of Medicine in Peshawar celebrated its graduation ceremony on Thursday, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Caretaker Chief Minister, Justice (R) Syed Arshad Hussain Shah, attending as the chief guest. During the event, 148 graduates from the 2017-2022 MBBS session were awarded certificates, and gold medals were presented to top-performing students.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Caretaker Chief Minister lauded the achievements of the new doctors, acknowledging the conclusion of their educational phase and the commencement of their professional journey. He emphasized the hard work and dedication it took for the graduates to reach this milestone and encouraged them to continue this commitment as they step into their roles as medical professionals.
In his address, Chief Minister Shah urged the graduates to prioritize serving the community with sincerity and dedication, highlighting that the health and well-being of the populace now lie in their hands. He expressed confidence that the graduates would maintain the high standards set by the North West School of Medicine as they embark on their professional lives.
The Chief Minister also underscored the importance of high moral values and professional ethics in the medical field. He advised the new doctors to strictly adhere to these principles, ensuring that they start their practical careers on a strong footing.
Furthermore, Syed Arshad Hussain Shah discussed the current provincial government’s focus on the health sector, particularly its efforts to increase the number of healthcare practitioners in the province. He emphasized the critical role of the youth in development and the government’s commitment to training them with modern requirements and creating employment opportunities both locally and abroad.
The event was well-attended, with Provincial Minister Masood Shah, Adviser to the Chief Minister Riyaz Anwar, faculty members, and a large number of students present to celebrate the achievements of the graduates.
