Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister Discusses Education System Improvement with Private Sector

Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Integration, Industries, Crafts, and Technical Education Dr. Amir Abdullah met with Waqas Jafari, CEO of Dar Arqam Schools System Pakistan and Chairman of Al-Ghazali Education Foundation, to discuss improving the education system in the province, especially in adjacent districts. The meeting, held in the Civil Secretariat Peshawar, focused on expanding the network of private schools and enhancing management and control through private partnerships in government educational institutions.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the discussions centered on the potential expansion of Dar Arqam Schools in merged districts and exploring private partnerships for better governance of some government educational institutions. The caretaker minister highlighted the provincial government’s consideration of various proposals to ensure high quality in the 10 governor model schools established in merged districts, suggesting potential transfer to the private sector through public-private partnerships.

Dr. Abdullah invited proposals from Dar Arqam Schools for partnerships with these institutions, following the specified procedures. He assured government support for expanding good private school franchises in merged districts, stating that the offer is open to all networks of reputable schools.

Waqas Jafari expressed his organization’s willingness to collaborate with the government’s initiative. He assured that his organization would provide necessary services to enhance the educational landscape in the merged districts.

This meeting marks a significant step towards strengthening the educational infrastructure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, emphasizing the importance of public-private partnerships in elevating the quality of education and expanding access to learning opportunities across the province.
