Mayor of Karachi Initiates Action Against Officials in Land Irregularities Case

Karachi: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has approved the removal of officials implicated in land irregularities within the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), signaling a commitment to eradicating corruption and misuse of authority in the municipal body.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the decision follows complaints from citizens about alleged illegal land allotments and mutations. Mayor Wahab had previously ordered an inquiry, which led to the removal of Additional Director Hafiz Mugheera Qadri and Deputy Director Noman Ahmed, and the forfeiture of a promotion for Assistant Director Naeem-ul-Haq. This action is part of a broader initiative to ensure public office is not exploited for personal gain. The Mayor emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability, directing the Municipal Commissioner to expedite pending inquiries and ensure adherence to legal procedures.
