Chief Justice of Federal Shariat Court Inaugurates E-Library in Islamabad


Islamabad: The Chief Justice of the Federal Shariat Court, Mr. Justice Dr. Syed Muhammad Anwer, formally inaugurated a newly established e-library at the Court’s Principal Seat in Islamabad on Monday.



According to Press Information Department, the e-library will provide access to a range of digital legal and Islamic resources. Users will have login credentials for the Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan, Pakistan Law Site, the British Council Library, and the Fiqh Academy Jeddah, among others. Additionally, links to Quranic and Hadith websites have been made available to assist lawyers and litigants in obtaining Shariah references.



During the inauguration, the Chief Justice acknowledged the efforts of officials who played a role in the e-library’s establishment. The Court has also integrated an e-office system, with the introduction of a leave dashboard and an e-kiosk to further enhance its digital operations.



The Chief Justice emphasized the critical role of digital literacy within the judiciary, stressing that the effective use of technology is vital for advancing toward an automated and efficient justice system. This aligns with the objectives set by the National Judicial Policy Making Committee, aiming to better serve the needs of lawyers, litigants, and the public.



The court is also considering the possibility of making its library collection and books available on its official website in the future.
