Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Caretaker Minister for Industries and Crafts, Technical Education and Amalgamation Affairs, Dr. Aamir Abdullah, met with the Caretaker Federal Minister for Commerce, Industry and Production Gohar Ejaz to discuss industrial development and the rehabilitation of inactive industrial centers in the province. The meeting focused on revitalizing various projects, with an aim to create employment opportunities for about 20,000 people.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Abdullah addressed the financial challenges of a honey processing plant in Swat established by the federal government under Samida and advocated for its reactivation. He also requested support for restoring a plant for the long-term preservation and drying of fruits in Swat and for reactivating a center for woolen cloth production in Islampur Swat.
The caretaker minister urged the federal minister to release the necessary funds for reactivating these projects, which have been stalled due to a lack of financing. He suggested that if the federal government is unable to allocate funds, the projects should be transferred to the provincial government for prompt restoration and production commencement. The revitalization of these projects is seen as a crucial step towards providing significant employment opportunities in the region.
