ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police successfully executed a detailed traffic management plan during the 9th Muharram central procession, ensuring smooth traffic flow and maintaining law and order. The initiative followed directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, and aimed at facilitating both procession participants and general commuters.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the traffic arrangements were strategically implemented along main procession routes and adjacent areas. Chief Traffic Officer Kainat Azhar Khan conducted an early morning inspection of the route, overseeing security and traffic preparations, and provided necessary instructions to officers on duty. She maintained direct supervision throughout the day to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow and minimize inconvenience to the public.
Over 350 traffic officers were deployed to various strategic points, actively guiding citizens, informing them about alternative routes, and effectively regulating traffic. The timely diversions and continuous monitoring by the Islamabad Traffic Police were crucial in controlling the situation, enabling citizens to reach their destinations efficiently while providing a secure environment for the procession.
Chief Traffic Officer Khan commended the cooperation of citizens and reaffirmed the commitment of the Islamabad Traffic Police to public service. She expressed gratitude toward procession organizers and participants for adhering to traffic instructions, which significantly contributed to the success of the day’s arrangements. Khan emphasized the ongoing dedication of the police force to ensure public safety and smooth traffic flow in the capital.
