Islamabad: Chairman Senate, Senator Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, delivered a special message on the occasion of Youm-e-Ashur, underscoring the 10th of Muharram as a lasting emblem of truth, righteousness, and sacrifice. He highlighted the enduring relevance of the Karbala tragedy, which distinguishes right from wrong across generations.
According to Senate of Pakistan, Senator Gilani praised Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions for their sacrifices at Karbala to uphold Islam’s supremacy, human dignity, and justice. He emphasized the lesson that true success and honor come from standing for truth and making sacrifices for it.
Senator Gilani also conveyed that Youm-e-Ashur promotes unity, tolerance, and national cohesion. He urged society to draw inspiration from Imam Hussain’s teachings to foster peace and mutual respect. He encouraged reflection on the sacrifices of Imam Hussain (RA) and the martyrs of Karbala to embody their values.
On this occasion, Senator Gilani offered prayers for Pakistan’s progress and stability and for the unity and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah.
