Pakistan Reaffirms Support for Torture Victims in Indian-Administered Kashmir: PM

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated the nation’s steadfast support for victims of torture in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, citing serious human rights violations in the region. In a message marking the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, Sharif highlighted ongoing concerns about the use of torture by occupying powers.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister condemned the repression and inhumane treatment experienced by people in both Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir, urging the global community to hold perpetrators accountable. He emphasized the need for international cooperation to protect victims of torture and called on the United Nations and human rights organizations to play a pivotal role in ensuring accountability.

Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with those suffering in Jammu and Kashmir, reiterating support for their right to self-determination as per United Nations Security Council resolutions. The statement reflects ongoing tensions and Pakistan’s diplomatic stance regarding the Kashmir issue.
