ISLAMABAD: In a concerted effort to combat crime and enhance public safety, the Islamabad Police have arrested 21 individuals accused of drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons. The arrests were part of a larger operation aimed at curbing criminal activity across the federal capital.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation was conducted under the directives of Inspector General of Police, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The police seized 60 grams of ice, one rifle, and 12 pistols of different calibers, along with ammunition, from the suspects. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the individuals, and investigations are ongoing.

In a parallel effort, seven other individuals with outstanding warrants and previous criminal records were apprehended as part of a special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and court absconders. SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, emphasized the police’s commitment to safeguarding citizens and reiterated the “No to Weapon” initiative aimed at addressing the issue of illegal weapons and related activities.

Additionally, SSP Raza called on the community to report any suspicious occurrences to local police stations or the “Pucar-15” helpline, encouraging collaboration between law enforcement and the public to fortify security in Islamabad.
