Indian Police Demolish House of Alleged Militant in Kashmir

Srinagar: Indian police demolished the residence of an alleged Kashmiri militant in the Islamabad district of the Indian-administered region of Jammu and Kashmir. The action, conducted in cooperation with the district administration, involved the destruction of a house and a terrace in the area known as Rekha Hassan Pura.

According to a statement from the police, the property belonged to Haroon Rashid Ganai, who is reportedly linked to a banned organization. The authorities described the house as “illegally” constructed, justifying the demolition on these grounds.

The police further alleged that Ganai was engaged in activities deemed illegal, which they claimed posed a threat to India’s national security and sovereignty. This assertion was presented as a basis for the demolition, although details of these alleged activities were not disclosed.

The incident has been reported by Kashmir Media Service, a news agency that covers developments in the region. The demolition reflects ongoing tensions and the complex security dynamics in the area, which has a history of conflict and unrest.
