Rawalpindi, His Excellency Sheikh Saleh bin Abdullah bin Muhammad Humaid, the esteemed Imam-e-Kaaba, met with General Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan, at the General Headquarters. The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest and emphasized the significance of the visit for Pakistan.
According to Inter Service Public Relations, the COAS warmly welcomed the dignitary, expressing that the visit of H.E. Imam-e-Kaaba to Pakistan is an honor for the Pakistani people. General Munir highlighted the deep reverence Muslims worldwide hold for the Harmain Sharifain and their custodian. During the meeting, H.E. Imam-e-Kaaba emphasized that Islam is a religion of peace and brotherhood, underscoring the need to dispel misconstrued interpretations of Islam.
The dignitaries jointly condemned the ongoing atrocities in the Gaza Conflict and the oppression of Muslims in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). They expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine and Kashmir, reaffirming their support in these challenging times.
General Munir remarked on the strong strategic relations between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which are rooted in historic religious and cultural ties, as well as a shared perspective between the two brotherly nations. He also noted the unique reverence the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia holds in the hearts of the Pakistani people.
The meeting concluded with H.E. Imam-e-Kaaba offering prayers for peace, stability, and unity among the Ummah, highlighting the shared aspirations and values that bind the Islamic community together.
