Lahore, In a recent initiative to improve the quality of education for police employees’ children, Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with leading private schools and colleges. This agreement significantly raises the discount on tuition fees for the children of serving police employees from 30% to 50%. Dr. Anwar announced that the target for this year is to provide educational scholarships worth up to 85 crore rupees, including foreign scholarships for higher education abroad for talented children of police constables.
According to Punjab Police, this initiative is part of several educational-friendly measures, including the launch of a police YouTube channel and collaboration with Sabaq.Pk. The MOU aims to provide thousands of children the opportunity to receive education in a better environment. Additionally, IG Punjab mentioned that students from private colleges will complete their internships under the Friends of Police and Volunteers in Police programs of Punjab Police. Professor Dr. Sohail Afzal committed to providing modern teaching training to teachers of educational institutions affiliated with Punjab Police. The event was also attended by the Provincial Minister for Planning, Development, and Environment Bilal Afzal, who welcomed the establishment of police Tahaffuz centers to assist vulnerable groups. The visiting delegation was given a tour of various departments of the Central Police Office. Sultan, and others were present at the meeting.
