Islamabad: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan’s Quality Assurance Agency recently concluded a regional session titled “The Quality Compact,” aimed at enhancing leadership engagement among Deans and Registrars from 23 institutions in South Punjab. Held at the University of Faisalabad, the event focused on shifting the responsibility of quality assurance to institutional leaders.
According to Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, the session featured a theme of “From Conformity to Ownership,” marking a strategic change from a compliance-centric approach to a model where Deans and Registrars play a key role in quality assurance. Director General QAA HEC, Mr. Nasir Shah, emphasized this shift as a necessary evolution in the educational landscape.
The program included three structured sessions centered on Contextual Understanding, Ownership, and Maturity. It addressed the Pakistan Precepts, Standards, and Guidelines (PSG-2023) framework, and introduced participants to Q-CIRCLE, a new digital platform designed for ongoing institutional review. Attendees included industry professionals and students, reflecting a broader interest in national quality assurance initiatives.
Concluding the session, Vice Chairman BOG TUF Dr. Hamza Amin and Registrar TUF Dr. Zahida Maqbool expressed gratitude to HEC for facilitating this initiative and thanked all participants for their engagement.
