Washington: The Embassy of Pakistan in Washington DC recently hosted its annual Mango Festival, drawing attention from a cross-section of American society, including members of the US administration, lawmakers, diplomats, and the Pakistani-American community. The event aimed to celebrate and promote the cultural and agricultural ties between Pakistan and the United States.
According to Radio Pakistan, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, addressed attendees by emphasizing the symbolic significance of Pakistani mangoes, describing them as a fruit of passion representing the deepening ties between the two nations. Ambassador Sheikh highlighted the mangoes as a testament to Pakistan’s agricultural tradition and capabilities.
Congressman Ryan Zinke of Montana, who serves on the Foreign Affairs Committee, was among the attendees and spoke about the warmth of the relationship between Pakistan and the United States. The festival provided an opportunity for attendees to engage in cultural exchange and strengthen diplomatic connections through the shared appreciation of the renowned Pakistani mangoes.
