PM Shehbaz Sharif Orders Swift Action on Asaan Karobar Act 2025

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed officials to expedite the implementation of government policy measures aimed at improving the ease of doing business, as well as the Asaan Karobar Act 2025.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister chaired a meeting in Islamabad focusing on the Ease of Doing Business. During the meeting, Sharif emphasized the need for third-party validation by international institutions to evaluate the effectiveness and execution of these measures. He reiterated that maximizing Pakistan’s domestic and foreign investment potential is a key government priority.

Sharif also called for a detailed report on the progress of these policy measures to be prepared and submitted promptly. He acknowledged the contributions of the Ministry of Law and Justice, Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), the Board of Investment, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Industries, and other relevant bodies in their legislative and policy efforts.

The meeting revealed that 558 reforms have been completed, targeting the reduction of regulatory requirements, paperwork, and approval procedures for businesses. Out of these, 71 policy measures have already been implemented, while 272 are rapidly advancing. These reforms will be rolled out in seven phases across various sectors and are anticipated to save the business community an estimated 468.7 billion rupees.

Additionally, the meeting noted that eliminating unnecessary paperwork and regulations would enhance exports, attract foreign direct investment, and create new employment opportunities.
