Shanghai: Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has concluded his two-day visit to Shanghai, China, where he participated in significant international discussions on artificial intelligence. The visit included the signing of an agreement for the establishment of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO) on behalf of Pakistan. A total of twenty-nine countries were involved in signing this agreement, marking a step toward international collaboration in AI.
According to Radio Pakistan, Pakistan is among the founding members of WAICO, which aims to serve as a platform for global cooperation, capacity building, and reducing the digital divide. The signing ceremony in Shanghai was preceded by a banquet hosted by President Xi Jinping to honor the attending delegations. Additionally, the Deputy Prime Minister attended the opening ceremony of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference, inaugurated by President Xi Jinping.
In addition to the formal events, Ishaq Dar engaged in meetings with counterparts and dignitaries on the sidelines of the conference. These discussions focused on bilateral and multilateral matters of mutual interest, further strengthening Pakistan’s international relations in the field of AI.
