Islamabad: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, in partnership with the China Media Group (CMG), hosted the China-Pakistan Youth Forum titled “Echo: Youth in Action” to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. The event aimed to foster engagement among Pakistani youth, academics, and stakeholders, featuring a documentary screening, alumni discussions, and dialogue on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

According to Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, the event was graced by Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training, Ms. Wajiha Qamar, who highlighted the enduring nature of Pakistan-China relations based on equality and mutual trust. She emphasized that the future of this partnership lies in education and youth engagement. Ms. Qamar urged the younger generation to actively understand and enrich the bilateral relationship.

Chairman HEC, Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, spoke about opportunities for expanding academic collaborations between Pakistani and Chinese institutions, while Ms. Aayesha Ikram underscored education as a bridge between the two nations. Cultural Counsellor Mr. Cheng Peng and other notable speakers reiterated the significance of people-to-people connectivity and the role of youth in fostering a deeper cultural understanding.

The forum concluded with a commitment to enhance cooperation and create opportunities for the youth to contribute towards a shared future.
