Finance Minister Aurangzeb Advocates for Enhanced Data Integration in Policy Making


ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has emphasized the need for strengthened coordination with stakeholders to advance digital initiatives and bolster the development of Pakistan’s digital economy. In a recent meeting with Dr. Sohail Munir, Chairperson of the Pakistan Digital Authority, the focus was on enhancing digital transformation, finance, and technology use to improve access to finance and stimulate economic activity.



According to Radio Pakistan, Minister Aurangzeb highlighted the necessity of simplifying customer onboarding processes and improving data-sharing mechanisms. He stressed the importance of improving interoperability of financial data, aiming for greater integration between banks and capital markets.



The Finance Minister also noted the potential benefits of better-connected data. He pointed out that such integration could significantly support policy formulation, planning, and decision-making by leveraging technology and Artificial Intelligence.
