ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination to support beneficiaries of the Prime Minister’s Special Fuel Relief Scheme. He chaired a meeting of the National Steering Committee on Fuel Subsidy to evaluate the scheme’s implementation.
According to Radio Pakistan, the committee assessed the progress in areas such as registration, token redemption, payments, and complaint management. It was reported that approximately 7.6 million registrations have been completed, and the token redemption process has entered its second week. As of today, 7.71 million tokens have been redeemed.
The Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged the scheme’s effectiveness and noted it as a testament to a collaborative government approach. Ishaq Dar commended the efforts of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Petroleum, OGRA, State Bank of Pakistan, and provincial governments for their roles in this initiative.
