Islamabad: Twenty-one new rescue and firefighting vehicles have reached Karachi Port, marking the first arrival of such vehicles in 17 years, intended to bolster Islamabad’s emergency response capabilities. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi inspected the new fleet, which traveled from China and is set to reach Islamabad within five days.
According to Press Information Department, the new vehicles represent the most significant expansion of Islamabad Rescue since 2009. Minister Naqvi expressed appreciation for the Government of China’s role in expediting the delivery. The vehicles will be stationed at six locations across Islamabad, ready for 24/7 deployment.
The fleet includes advanced equipment capable of operations at heights up to 256 feet, featuring four aerial fire trucks, six fire towers, and five fire tenders. Key officials, including Chief Collector Customs Appraisement South and Chairman of the CDA, were present during the inspection at Karachi Port.
