QUETTA: Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi, alongside Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, inaugurated the Jinnah People’s Mass Transit Train Service in Quetta. This initiative marks a significant development in the public transportation sector of the region, aiming to enhance connectivity and accessibility for the local population.
According to Radio Pakistan, during the inauguration ceremony, Minister Abbasi emphasized the federal government’s dedication to enhancing facilities for the residents of Balochistan. He highlighted that the province is pioneering a metro train service, setting an example for other provinces.
Chief Minister Bugti noted that the new train service is designed to offer safe and affordable transportation options for students, employees, businesspeople, and other residents. He announced plans to extend the service to Bostan and Mastung, with upgrades to the track for two-way operations expected to be completed within the year.
