LONDON: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar praised the significant contributions of British parliamentarians in bolstering the relationship between Pakistan and the United Kingdom. Speaking to a delegation of cross-party, Pakistan-origin British lawmakers at Pakistan House in London, Dar highlighted their advocacy for a fair resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir conflict and shared diplomatic efforts for peace in the Middle East.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ishaq Dar emphasized the importance of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding in achieving lasting peace and stability in the region and underscored the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement’s role in enhancing regional security. The British lawmakers congratulated Dar on the PML-N’s recent electoral success in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, attributing the victory to the party’s track record in economic development. The Deputy Prime Minister stated that the new government would focus on infrastructure investment and job creation for the region’s youth, working with various political entities to reach consensus on governance and constitutional matters.

The British parliamentarians, including Lord Zameer Choudrey and Members of Parliament Yasmin Qureshi and Afzal Khan, expressed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-UK ties. They commended Pakistan’s leadership in Middle Eastern mediation, noting its internationally recognized role, which has instilled pride among overseas Pakistanis.
