Karachi: The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) marked Pakistan’s Independence Day with a ceremony in Karachi, bringing together national leaders, CPSP leadership, council members, faculty, and staff. The event underscored themes of patriotism, unity, and academic excellence.

According to Senate of Pakistan, the ceremony was attended by CPSP President Professor Muhammad Shoaib Shafi, Senior Vice President Professor Khalid Masood Gondal, Vice President Professor Muhammad Masroor, and other distinguished guests, including Honourable Senator Mr. Amir Waliuddin Chishti, who served as the chief guest. The event began with a recitation of the Holy Quran, a flag-hoisting ceremony, and prayers for Pakistan’s prosperity and stability.

The celebration featured a presentation by Professor Khalid Masood Gondal, highlighting CPSP’s significant achievements and contributions to postgraduate medical education. National and international representatives participated online, extending greetings from various locations in Pakistan and abroad, showcasing CPSP’s extensive reach and unity.

Professor Masood Hamid reflected on CPSP’s progress and acknowledged its efforts towards greater recognition. Chief guest Senator Chishti praised CPSP’s role in medical education and pledged Senate support for its initiatives. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Professor Muhammad Masroor and a dua by Dr. Fayyaz Ahmed Rakha, emphasizing CPSP’s commitment to national service and excellence.
