Caretaker Government Committed to Free and Fair Elections in Pakistan


Islamabad, Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi has affirmed the interim government’s commitment to holding free, fair, and transparent elections in Pakistan. He conveyed this assurance during a meeting with a delegation from the Islamabad Policy Research Institute, led by its President, Major General (Retired) Raza Muhammad, in Islamabad. Solangi emphasized that all political parties would be provided a level playing field without discrimination, and state media would ensure equal coverage for all parties.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Solangi highlighted the critical importance of developing a consensus among political parties to improve the political environment. He acknowledged that disinformation poses a significant challenge and called for a collective effort to eradicate fake news. Solangi reassured that an enabling environment would be provided to the media during the elections, underlining the caretaker government’s commitment to upholding democratic principles. The delegation from the Islamabad Policy Research Institute lauded the caretaker government’s dedication to ensuring a free, fair, and transparent electoral process.
