Lahore: Bilal Yasin, the Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development, has mandated the immediate restoration of roads following the completion of sewerage and drainage works. The directive was issued during a video-link meeting of WASA Punjab, where the minister addressed concerns over delays in road restorations.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the meeting, chaired by Minister Yasin, included Director General WASA Punjab Tayyab Fareed and managing directors from 41 districts. They provided updates on ongoing development projects and drainage arrangements. Minister Yasin emphasized the need for accelerated road restoration to reduce inconvenience for citizens, asserting that the quality of work must not be compromised.

The minister instructed that measures be implemented to ease commuting difficulties and that all projects adhere to stipulated timelines. He requested detailed reports from managing directors about drainage challenges from the previous monsoon season and urged them to personally oversee development works in their districts. Coordination with elected representatives was also emphasized.

Yasin directed the DG WASA Punjab to establish clear timelines for current projects and submit progress reports. He indicated that a robust monitoring system for addressing public complaints efficiently is a priority for the Chief Minister Punjab.
