Islamabad, On the commemoration of Pakistan Day, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has expressed a steadfast belief that Kashmir’s long-cherished dream of accession to Pakistan will be realized. This statement comes as a reaffirmation of the deep-rooted desire among Kashmiris to be integrated with Pakistan, echoing the sentiments tied to the historical and cultural bonds between the two regions.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC-AJK Convener Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, alongside other leaders, extended their congratulations to the people and Government of Pakistan on this pivotal national day. They highlighted the significance of March 23 in history, recalling the Lahore Resolution of 1940, which laid the groundwork for the creation of a separate homeland for Muslims of the subcontinent. The leaders articulated that the struggle ongoing in occupied Jammu and Kashmir is an extension of the Pakistan Movement, underscoring the notion that Pakistan’s identity remains incomplete without Jammu and Kashmir.
The statement emphasized the intertwined fates of Kashmiris and Pakistanis, strengthened by shared religion, history, and culture. The APHC-AJK lauded Pakistan for its role as a staunch supporter and advocate of the Kashmiri cause, acknowledging the country’s political, diplomatic, and moral support as a source of inspiration for the freedom struggle.
Furthermore, the leaders appealed to the international community to honor its commitments regarding the Kashmir dispute, advocating for a resolution in line with United Nations resolutions. The comprehensive statement from APHC-AJK leaders, including prominent figures and activists, serves as a call to action for the realization of Kashmir’s self-determination and its eventual union with Pakistan.
The APHC-AJK also paid homage to Muhammad Yusuf Baig, father of senior Hurriyat leader Farida Behanji, on his 32nd martyrdom anniversary, remembering his sacrifice and contribution to the Kashmiri struggle for freedom.
