ISLAMABAD, November 5 – In its Annual General Meeting held today, the Pakistan Tax Bar Association (PTBA) announced the election of its new office bearers and members of the Executive Committee for the term of 2023-2025. Anwar Kashif Mumtaz has been elected as the President, alongside M. Rehan Siddiqui as the General Secretary, according to a news release by the PTBA.
According to Karachi Tax Bar Association, The election witnessed the appointment of Syed Irfan Haider Shah as the Joint Secretary and Imran Ahmad Khan as the Information Secretary. Wasim Uddin Hashmi will be taking charge of the financial affairs of the PTBA as the Treasurer. The association, representing tax consultants and legal tax practitioners across Pakistan, has also named multiple Senior Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents from various regions, reflecting the organization’s nationwide reach and representation.
Senior Vice Presidents elected include Farooq Majeed from Lahore and Muhammad Azam from Peshawar, among others from Central Sindh, Multan, Baluchistan, Karachi, and Sialkot. The Vice Presidents’ list encompasses representatives from Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Sukkur, Mianwali, Okara, Sargodha, Lahore again, Kasur, and Hyderabad, with Riaz Hussain Azam Bopera from Rawalpindi closing the list.
These appointments come at a crucial time for the PTBA as it navigates through a dynamic taxation environment and advocates for the interests of its members.
