Islamabad: The anniversary of Radio Pakistan, the national broadcaster, will be observed on Friday. The broadcaster was established simultaneously with the creation of Pakistan, marking its inception at the midnight between August 13 and August 14, 1947.

According to Radio Pakistan, the organization was initially known as the Pakistan Broadcasting Service. The first official announcements about the creation of Pakistan were made by Zahur Azar in English, just before midnight, and by Mustafa Ali Hamdani in Urdu, at the stroke of midnight. Since its establishment, Radio Pakistan has played a pivotal role in informing, educating, and entertaining millions across the nation through its extensive network and social media platforms.
