Ambassador Masood Khan Celebrates Iqbal as Pakistan’s Ideological Guide

Washington DC, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, commemorated Allama Muhammad Iqbal, highlighting his pivotal role as the ideological foundation for Pakistan. Speaking at a special ceremony in Washington, Ambassador Khan described Iqbal as the nation’s ideological compass and lodestar, crediting him with the visionary thought that led to the creation of Pakistan.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Khan emphasized Iqbal’s contributions as a philosopher whose ideas transcended the subcontinent, notably his early concepts on the alliance of civilizations. The event also featured a photo exhibition organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in collaboration with the International Academy of Letters USA, Sadequain Foundation USA, and Sadequain Gallery of Chicago, paying tribute to Syed Sadequain Ahmed Naqvi, a renowned calligrapher, painter, and poet.

Khan pointed out the global relevance of Iqbal’s thoughts, noting that scholars worldwide visit Pakistan to discuss his philosophy. He encouraged Pakistanis to take pride in Iqbal’s legacy, which has significantly influenced the country’s formative years. The ceremony also included discussions by various speakers on different aspects of Iqbal’s work, relating his poetry and philosophy to contemporary issues.
