Islamabad: Turkish Ambassador Dr. Mehmet Pacaci met with Pakistan’s Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi at the Ministry of Interior, where they discussed enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation in various sectors including counter-terrorism, police, and civil armed forces. The meeting also addressed the increase of flights between the two nations.
According to Press Information Department, Dr. Pacaci condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan and shared Turkey’s past experiences with terrorism, highlighting its current improved security situation. He extended Turkey’s full support to Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts. Minister Naqvi appreciated the sacrifices made by Pakistan in its fight against terrorism, mentioning contributions from the army, police, rangers, and other civil forces. He welcomed Turkey’s cooperation in these efforts.
The discussion also covered the upcoming visit of Minister Naqvi to Turkey in October, on the invitation of the Turkish Government, where he plans to propose further measures to strengthen the bilateral relations. Naqvi expressed his intentions to deepen the brotherly ties between the two countries, noting that Pakistanis view Turkey as a second home.
Minister Naqvi also acknowledged Dr. Pacaci’s efforts in strengthening the Pakistan-Turkey relations and congratulated him on his appointment as the Special Envoy of the OIC for combating Islamophobia, extending good wishes for his new role and future endeavors. In return, Ambassador Pacaci thanked Minister Naqvi for the cooperation extended during his tenure in Pakistan.
