President Zardari Commemorates Defence and Martyrs’ Day with Strong Message on National Sovereignty and Regional Peace


Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan delivered a poignant message on the occasion of Defence and Martyrs’ Day, emphasizing the nation’s resolute commitment to defending its sovereignty and advocating for peace in the region, particularly concerning the Kashmir issue. The President honored the sacrifices of Pakistan’s military and martyrs who have defended the nation against threats and aggression.



According to Press Information Department, President Zardari praised the professionalism and readiness of the Pakistani Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies, who are equipped to counter any threats to the nation’s security. He highlighted the continuous support of the Pakistani people for their armed forces in their mission to safeguard the country.



In his address, President Zardari also touched upon the situation in Kashmir, criticizing the revocation of its autonomous status and calling for adherence to UN Security Council resolutions that support the right to self-determination for the Kashmiri people. He condemned the support of hostile nations for anti-Pakistan elements, which he claimed are involved in terror activities within Pakistan.



President Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability, stating that enduring peace hinges on the resolution of the Kashmir conflict. He expressed Pakistan’s readiness to maintain peaceful coexistence with all neighboring countries, aligning with its foreign policy objectives.



The message concluded with a reaffirmation of support for the Pakistani security forces in their ongoing battle against terrorism and a prayer for national peace and prosperity. “May Allah protect Pakistan and guide us on the path to peace and prosperity,” President Zardari stated, echoing the national sentiment of unity and resilience.
