Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining an uninterrupted supply of sugar at affordable prices, underscoring a zero-tolerance stance against hoarding, speculation, and artificial price hikes. Dar made these remarks while presiding over a high-level meeting in Islamabad, convened to assess the nation’s sugar availability and price stability.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Ministry of National Food Security and Research, in collaboration with provincial food departments, presented a briefing at the meeting detailing current sugar stocks, production forecasts, and prevailing market price trends. Following a detailed review of the data, the meeting expressed satisfaction with the current state of sugar availability and supply.
