Islamabad: World Population Day is being observed today to focus attention on global population issues, with an emphasis on educating individuals about family planning, gender equality, and reproductive health. The event underscores the need to address the challenges associated with population growth and the importance of making informed choices to achieve global development objectives.
According to Radio Pakistan, this year’s theme, “Realizing the hopes and aspirations of young people-today and for the future,” aims to bring attention to the potential of young populations. In his message, President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the importance of investing in young people, women, and children to harness Pakistan’s demographic potential for sustainable national development. He noted that Pakistan’s significant youth demographic could be a catalyst for progress if provided with access to quality education, healthcare, skills training, and employment opportunities.
